http://dotnet.org.za/codingsanity/archive/2007/12/14/review-windows-xp.aspx; I won't give a thumbs up because the article was poorly written, but I like the approach and yes I agree - I have been using Vista on other people's computers often lately and would personally never consider "upgrading". I never buy computer games until they have been around for years anyway so I can do without DirectX 10, and otherwise the only improvement is that Vista looks prettier, which matters precious little since I re skinned Windows (without third party software, by the way) and my desktop looks as nice as any Vista desktop without having to deal with graphics glitches or waste an extra quarter of my RAM. Yes, a newer machine can run Vista better than an older machine, but a newer machine can run XP better than an old machine too without having to sacrifice its ability to run other programs better as well. Save the RAM for things that matter.
